Oracle Grid Engine, previously known as Sun Grid Engine (SGE), CODINE (Computing in Distributed Networked Environments) or GRD (Global Resource Director), was a grid computing computer cluster software system (otherwise known as batch-queuing system), developed and supported by Sun Microsystems and later Oracle.
On October 22, 2013, Univa announced it acquired the intellectual property and trademarks for the Grid Engine technology and that Univa will take over support.
This CD includes PDFs, webpages, and various multimedia about Oracle Grid.
Note: It is a bit surprising, but some of the web links in the CD still work as of 2014-03-28 (including the link in the start.html file to retrieve the CD "password"), which is about a decade after this CD was released. Below are some archived links about Grid that might be interesting. See the included screenshots for the password survey.
